Frequently Asked Questions
Can I trust the security of the platform?
Yes, CanadaHelps complies with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). As part of that compliance, we don’t actually store your credit card information on our servers, but can recall your encrypted information in order to save you time when you donate.
What are my payment options?
There are three payment options available for one-time donations – Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Visa Debit), Paypal, or CanadaHelps Gift Cards. However, the gift cards cannot be used if you are making a monthly donation.
How do I get a tax receipt for my monthly donations?
By default, no receipt will be issued for monthly donations before the start of a new year, when we automatically generate the receipts and send you an email so you can download it. There is no action required on your part to make this happen.
Can I donate from outside of Canada?
Yes, we accept international donations, but the donations will always be processed in Canadian currency. Please note that we are a Canadian charity and only issue Canadian tax receipts.
There is a suggested $4.00 donation amount to CanadaHelps, do I have to give to them as well?
You will never be required to make an additional donation to CanadaHelps in order to complete your transaction. The suggested donation is completely optional. If you would prefer not to make a donation, simply leave the checkbox option blank.
